Blog

Sketches, experiments, general fun

I’ve called this a blog but it’s more of a open sketch book of drawings, experiments, things I’ve just learned and haven’t used anywhere else yet, and generally stuff I’ve done for my own amusement. There’s going to be a fair amount of AI for a while, for that is my new very favourite thing. That picture above, I didn’t make that. Good old AI. Perfectly imperfect, doing the things I wouldn’t otherwise bother to do.

Dots and eyes

Dots and eyes

From humble beginnings It might look like I haven't done much recently, I realise that the obvious christmas post is obviously a couple of months old now. And I'm not going to do anything much to convince that I'm not just spending my days playing on the xbox and/or...

A Many Santa Christmas

A Many Santa Christmas

Seasons greetings from all the ClausesBecause nothing says Christmas like a nightmare quantity of slightly melty mask face Santa's joining together for holiday cheer. Nothing. Here's some I picked for slightly longer than half second viewing. Enjoy.

Parrot colours AI expand

Parrot colours AI expand

Variations on a theme. After using Adobe’s AI Firefly to generate images in series from a single starting picture a few times, each time getting wildly different results, I thought I'd have a go at making a series on a theme. I started by trying out a colour theme,...

Pretty cool parrot

Pretty cool parrot

It's not a carrot. After I played Dr Moreau using AI on a kangaroo and elephant, making a bunch of hideous nightmare creatures one can’t un-see, I had a go at crossing a cat and a parrot. But it didn’t work. Firely just would not smoosh those two beasts together. Not...

LOVE YOU

LOVE YOU

Type. I love type. In my on-going adventure into AI generated graphics and art I took a little day trip out of Photoshop to have a play with Firefly Text Effects online tool. It’s alright, a bit limited (you can only use a handful of fonts and colours), but the images...

Expanding a grid

Expanding a grid

When I say grid, you say? In this week’s installment of ‘What I did with Adobe’s Firefly’ I’m giving you something a bit more graphic design-y. Now, as anyone who knows anything knows, graphic designers love a good grid. I certainly do. So I asked Firefly to make me a...

Twinsies

Sometimes one feels split in two... As I talked about earlier, I’ve been playing with Adobe’s Firefly on Photoshop, generally asking it to do things it’s probably not quite meant to do. I mean, all the videos I’ve seen have people talking about how great it that you...

What do you get if…

What do you get if…

...you cross a kangaroo and an elephant? This year Photoshop had a big AI update, it’s called Firefly and it’s actually quite impressive, lots of people are super excited about how much time it’s going to save them. I am too. But, me being me, I’m most excited about...
